Situated on a small and confined plot within the Leamington Spa Conservation Area is a new, contemporary residence called Mill Lodge. Designed by Michael Kendrick Architects, this one bedroom home has been completed and is absolutely stunning. Inspired by the many traditional carriage houses in the city, the residential concept features an elegant brick wall exterior.
Architects wanted to take advantage of a site that was both restricted and lean. As a result, Mill Lodge is a comfortable stay within the Leamington Spa Conservation Area. This is a contemporary one-bedroom residence that makes life easier for an aging couple, without compromising on design quality.
Despite the narrow urban conditions and restricted area, the Mill House is made to feel light, airy and connected to the natural surroundings. Many architects took their ideas from thoughtful references to the neighbors and architectural traditions of the area. A clever breakthrough for the abandoned land area just down the road, it has been completed as a formidable and contemporary private home, as well as a family home for a lovely elderly couple. Enjoy!
