Prepare yourself for an awesome sea cabin adventure on the shores of Lettes Bay, Tasmania’s west coast. Captains Rest is a carefully designed lodge and its unique location makes it perfect as a protective nest open to nature. The landmark is truly stunning as it is nestled among the huts of Lettes Bay Village and surrounded by the wild landscape on the outskirts of Strahan village.
This cabin is a secluded salty getaway with the chirping sea as the only horizon, the cabin itself has been designed like a real cabin boat, accentuating the feeling of sailing on water. Having a simple and basic construction on the outside, the cabin is lined with corrugated iron as a decoration that underlines the surrounding seaside setting. You’ll find pieces from Australia and elsewhere scattered along the warm white panels covering the walls as ropes, buoys, binoculars, flags, lanterns and dried plants invite guests on an imaginary journey. There’s no denying that Captain Rest is the perfect hideaway cabin that offers endless sea adventures.
These cabins are small in size with intimate and cozy spaces, but boldly designed to never feel cramped. Many small nooks have been envisioned to stretch out, share moments by the wood stove, relax, to enjoy quality time with your loved ones. This cabin is like a large mural in timeless evolution, wide opening, and framed by spectacular antique Georgian windows, allowing nature to be seen from every corner of the house (including from the bath and bed), providing views of the bay, pristine mountains, sky starry, or sunrise. Being in the cabin, you will feel at peace enjoying old portraits, antiques, patented velvets and fine linens, creating a warm and illuminating atmosphere.
